They offer gluten free and vegetarian options and operate as a fully halal restaurant. The most talked about choices are their zucchini balls as well as their plentiful banquets that are generous in size and flavour.
Punjabi Hut

Also located at Erindale shops, Punjabi Hut has been around Canberra since 2003. Once you enter the restaurant, you are immediately immersed into the warmth and delicious smelling spices. With the ability to decide the heat factor of your meal, there are many options to choose from that vary of type of meat as well as vegetarian options. Their Butter Chicken and Samosas are the most popular items on their menu.
Chong Co Thai Restaurant

Chong Co has been a well known Canberra brand for nearly 10 years. With three locations in Canberra, their Tuggeranong store is in a quieter space than the other two stores. Providing authentic and tasty Thai food, they offer a very extensive selection of options which include vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well as variations of heat and spice. Things to try here at Chong Co are the entrée Crispy Crab Net Rolls and the Beef Massaman.
China Tea House

Another one for the Erindale shops. China Tea House has been a southside staple for nearly 30 years. With a large selection of entrees, soups, house favourites, mains and noodle dishes, China Tea House is a crowd pleaser. They also cater for vegetarians and gluten free. The main dish that is the talk of China Tea House is the Dry-Fried Spicy Lamb and booking is recommended so you don’t miss out on dining in.
